A.M. Nicholson Memorial Seminary Scholarship
A.M. Nicholson was the first full-time Director of Missions for the Concord Baptist Association, serving from 1945-1961. Nicholson’s accomplishments were many, but one of the greatest was starting new churches. There were 12 new churches started during his tenure.
Though Nicholson’s tenure was marked with great growth, it ended in tragedy. Because his salary had never been great, he was forced to borrow against his life insurance policy to help send his children to college. In 1961, he walked to the post office to mail the last repayment check, walked out of the post office, and died of a massive heart attack.
The Association created a fund in his memory. Interest from that fund will now be used to provide an annual scholarship/scholarships for individuals from CBA churches pursuing seminary training for preparation for ministry.
